Interview with Betelguese band

Bonded by their love of music, the Betelgeuse Band, comprising migrant workers practising at the Penjuru Recreation Centre, recently reunited to jam again after a long hiatus due to the pandemic. It has uplifted their spirits despite separation from their families back home.

The well-being of our migrant workforce was what motivated the philanthropic efforts of the Estate of Ng Teng Fong and the Estate of Khoo Teck Puat to initiate Project MigrantWell, with SBF Foundation on board to spearhead it.

Under Project MigrantWell, SBF Foundation will establish an independent charity, MigrantWell Singapore, to support the health and well-being of the migrant workers community. MigrantWell Singapore will partner community agencies to identify care gaps, and develop guidelines for the usage of the MigrantWell Welfare Fund. It will also partner St. Andrew’s Mission Hospital to set up St. Andrew’s Migrant Worker Medical Centre at Penjuru.
